Mr. Chakraborty joined Desh Group of Companies in 2013 as an independent director of Desh Garments Ltd. In 2016, he assumed the role of Advisor to the Board of Directors, guiding the Board on different aspects of business operations.
A graduate of Pogose School in Dhaka, Mr. Chakraborty studied intermediate science at Jagannath College. At Dhaka University, he earned a bachelor of science degree followed by an MBA, graduating with a 3.4 CGPA.
Mr. Chakraborty’s career began in 1969 with the Pakistan Industrial Credit & Investment Corporation (PICIC). After Liberation, he worked for more than a decade at Bangladesh ShilpaRinSangstha, overseeing its Chittagong branch for five years.
Mr. Chakraborty has worked in public and private finance and a range of industries including textiles and steel fabrication, holding a variety of positions. As well, Mr. Chakraborty has been trained in advanced managerial concepts such as the use of the Critical Path Method.
Mr. Subhas Chandra Bose brings more than 30 years of knowledge in international trading and nearly a decade of teaching experience to Desh Group of Companies.
He earned a master’s degree in commerce from Rajshahi University and subsequently taught at a college in Dhaka in 1964.
Moving to private sector employment in 1973, Mr. Bose has been party to myriad business transactions involving global blue-chip companies such as Canpotex (Canada); Transworld Oil Company (Bermuda); SEE & CSEE (France); Orskov Shipyard (Denmark); Bühler AG (Switzerland); and General Motors Corporation’s Electro-Motive Division (today Electro-Motive Diesel, USA).
